Author's Note: Hey guys, here's another update! I'm sorry these are taking so long but I'm just going to say that I have a lot of personal stuff going on and I've kind of been falling apart. I haven't been writing as much as I should be, and I'm in the process of moving, and I'm not taking my girlfriend with because, guess what, I don't have one anymore. So I'm hoping that once I get settled in my new place and lay off the mind-altering habits I've picked up, I'll get back to posting once a week. I love you guys! ♥
“Dude, stop killing me! I'm on your team!” Pierre complained loudly, and he dropped the controller to the playstation II long enough to punch Patrick in the arm before grabbing it again.
“It's not like I'm doing it on purpose!” Patrick complained, leaning away from Pierre and into David. David groaned and pushed Patrick off of him, glaring at the man for a moment before leaning the opposite direction to lay his head against Sebastien's shoulder.
Sebastien looked at David, an eyebrow raised, before he smiled and wrapped an arm around the younger boy. “I think it's past someone's bed time,” Sebastien said softly, catching the attention of the other two men in the room.
“Shut up,” David grumbled, though he drew his knees to his chest and snuggled into Sebastien's embrace.
The three men laughed lightly and Pierre dropped the controller and stood, moving to stand in front of David and Sebastien. “Okay, come on,” Pierre said as he reached down and grabbed onto David's hands, pulling on him, though the boy hardly helped. Pierre laughed and pulled harder, bringing David forward enough that he could wrap his arms around the younger boy's waist and lift him into the air. David allowed this to happen and soon he was in Pierre's arms, being carried like a princess to their bedroom.
“For your information...” David grumbled sleepily, and Pierre rolled his eyes, knowing some excuse was on the way. “I had an eight o'clock class today... and then I worked all night.”
Pierre sighed and nodded as he laid David down. David began to undress as Pierre did, and soon enough the light was off and Pierre was in bed with him, holding him close. David smiled and settled in against Pierre's chest, feeling peaceful.
October was near it's end and it had been almost two months since everything he knew about his relationship with David had changed and the two had almost broken up, but things were fine now. Sebastien and Patrick seemed to be getting along just fine, and he and David were finally like they should have been, though those three little words were just as illusive as ever. How were they supposed to say it now after everything they had gone through? David didn't feel right in saying it first after everything he had put Pierre through and that if he said it now it would only seem like he was saying it to keep from losing Pierre, while Pierre was scared that David just wasn't ready to hear it. There had been a time when he had thought the time was right... and then he found out that David cheated on him with a psychopath. So at least for the time being, he was alright with waiting.
Pierre felt the light pressure of smaller fingertips pressing into his chest and he knew before David opened his mouth that he was going to speak to him. “Pie?” David asked groggily, and Pierre smiled and placed his hand on top of David's hand on his chest.
“What's up?” Pierre asked softly. He didn't really know why he was laying in bed, as he wasn't tired. Then again, why would he miss out on a chance to cuddle with his gorgeous boyfriend?
“I'm thirsty...” David trailed off softly, and Pierre only smiled wider at that.
“You are?” Pierre asked, adopting the voice one would use with a child.
“Yeah,” David replied, sounding childish and only egging on Pierre's need to nurture his boyfriend.
“Do you want me to get you some water?” Pierre asked, smiling wide.
“Aww, would you?” David asked, as if it wasn't totally obvious that Pierre getting him a glass of water was exactly what he wanted to start.
Pierre chuckled softly and kissed the top of David's head before standing and heading out to the living room. He was just in his boxers, but Sebastien and Patrick wouldn't care. They were probably still just playing video games anyway. When he opened the door, was it his imagination or did the two on the couch seem ruffled? His brow furrowed and he walked out, looking at them skeptically, though they just gave him smiles and went back to the video game. Pierre opened his mouth to say something but only stared for a few seconds.
“What?” Sebastien asked, glancing at Pierre. Pierre thought he looked a little nervous.
“Uh... nothing,” Pierre decided, and he went to the kitchen for a glass of water before heading back to his bedroom, though he paused at the door and watched his two friends skeptically for a moment. “Good night guys, just lock the door when Pat leaves,” Pierre requested, though the two staying up after Pierre and David went to bed wasn't unusual as of late.
“Night, man,” Patrick replied without taking his eyes from the video game at hand.
With a nod, Pierre went back into the bedroom and closed the door. Sebastien and Patrick turned to look at the closed door, staring at it for a moment, before they smiled and threw the controllers to the side and grabbed each other, pulling each other into a playful, fiery kiss. Sebastien pushed Patrick onto his back, crawling on top of him, straddling his hips without once breaking contact with the other man's lips. His tongue pressed against his fiance's as Patrick's hands moved under Sebastien's shirt, grabbing his sides, growing hot at the feel of Sebastien's skin under his fingertips.
Sebastien pulled back and looked down at Patrick, his hands on either side of the other man's head to keep himself held up. Patrick's hands were moving expertly up and down along Sebastien's sides, ensuring that he couldn't stop being so damn turned on, despite that look in his eyes that was saying... what?
“Why are we doing this?” Sebastien asked breathlessly.
“Because we're hot and horny for each other?” Patrick asked with a cheeky grin.
Sebastien glared playfully and sat up, putting a wonderful amount of pressure on Patrick's groin. “I'm serious, Pat... why are we hiding?”
“You know why,” Patrick said with a sigh.
“I know why we were at first, yeah,” Sebastien agreed, looking down to Patrick's chest as his fingers played absentmindedly against his shirt. “With everything that was going on with Pierre and David, it was really bad timing... they were too fragile and it would have just been rude,” Sebastien muttered. “But now they're fine! Everything's fine! So why..?”
“So now we're supposed to say 'hey guys, by the way, we've been hiding our relationship for two months' and see how they take it when they find out we've been lying to them?” Patrick responded softly.
“It's just gonna get worse the longer we wait,” Sebastien pointed out, and Patrick nodded in agreement.
“But how are we supposed to say it now?” Patrick asked quietly.
“We just... come out and say it!” When Patrick looked less than enthused, Sebastien's face adopted a sad smile and his eyes diverted again to his fiance's shirt. “I'm starting to think you're ashamed of me,” he admitted quietly.
“Seb, that's ridiculous,” Patrick told him firmly. When Sebastien didn't look at him, Patrick sighed and moved a hand to the other man's face, holding him gently. “Look at me,” he requested, and Sebastien did as he was asked. “I kissed you in front of Pierre the first time I saw him in four years,” he reminded gently, and Sebastien smiled and nodded. “I could never be ashamed of you... I love you too much for that.”
Sebastien and Patrick stared into each other's eyes for a long moment before Sebastien leaned down and kissed Patrick again, and that set the whole thing off once more. Patrick wrapped his arms tight around Sebastien and maneuvered them on the couch, flipping them over without dumping them on the floor, so that he was laying on top of the other man, pressed between his legs. Sebastien moaned in Patrick's mouth at the feel of Patrick rubbing against him and wanted more than anything to be alone in their hotel room again. Patrick was half tempted to strip Sebastien of his clothes and have his way with the man right there on their best friend's couch.
Sebastien and Patrick shot away from each other and looked to where Pierre's voice had come from, where he was standing in his door way with wide eyes and his mouth hanging open. “Pierre, it's not...” Sebastien started.
“Oh don't even try that one, Seb,” Pierre told him, a stupid grin on his face. He turned back to the bedroom, calling, “David! David get out here right now!” Sebastien sighed and covered his face, though he was laughing just the same, while Patrick was sitting there with a defeated smile on his lips.
“Whyyy?” David complained, throwing a pillow over his head.
“They were just making out!” Pierre exclaimed excitedly.
Immediately a squeal so loud erupted from the bedroom that Pierre would be surprised if the neighbors didn't think the fire alarm was going off. Instantly David was standing in the living room, wearing nothing but a pair of light blue boxer briefs that looked like they were made specifically for gay men, his black fauxhawk disheveled and a pair of black framed glasses thrown on his face. He looked stunned out of words and as excited as the dog sized puppy that was standing behind his legs.
“Dude, could you get any gayer?” Patrick asked meanly, and Sebastien aimed his elbow at the man's stomach, hitting him and getting a soft, “Oomph!”
“Okay, what's going on with you two?” Pierre asked, his arms crossing over his chest and an amused smile on his lips.
“Yeah! What is going on here?” David asked quickly. Pierre was reminded instantly of the way his mother and father were with each other and couldn't decide if he wanted to laugh or run. When Patrick and Sebastien just seemed to stare, David grew impatient and threw a hand on his hip. “Are you guys together?” he asked quickly, and now Pierre was reminded even further of his mother. Oh God. He had gone for a guy and still ended up with someone like his mom.
Patrick and Sebastien turned as one to look at each other, seemingly giving the same look, before Sebastien looked back at the two standing in front of them and said, “We're... engaged.”
The reaction was exactly what he had been expecting. Pierre's eyes widened, mouth dropped open and he didn't say anything while David gave a loud squeal of a, “WHAAAAAT?!” Patrick and Sebastien just continued to stare, looking much like two teenagers who had been caught by their parents having sex. “Since when?! How long has this been going on?! Why didn't you tell us about this?! How did thi—”
Pierre cut David off by putting his hand over his mouth from behind and holding tightly to him. “David, one question at a time!” Pierre told him firmly. David glared and huffed but stayed quiet. “When did you guys get together?” Pierre asked calmy, and Sebastien and Patrick looked relieved for the change in tone though they looked guilty for some reason.
“About two months ago,” Sebastien said, and David squawked again, though the sound was rather drowned by Pierre's hand still held firmly over his mouth.
“Why didn't you tell us?” Pierre asked, his voice a little tinged with hurt.
“It's not like we didn't want to,” Patrick explained slowly. “It was just... bad timing.”
“We came back with every intention to tell you guys about us...” Sebastien trailed off softly, giving Pierre and David both meaningful looks. “And... that was the day after David's birthday.” Understanding seemed to flow through the room and the silence swelled; the longer it lasted, the harder it seemed to be to break as memories crept around. All of that stuff was in the past and the four had every intention of letting it stay there, though when it was brought up, it was obvious how bad all of it still hurt.
“So... when are you getting married?” Pierre asked softly, and David nodded against his hand, reminding Pierre that his hand was still firmly pressed to his boyfriend's mouth. He dropped his hand and moved to stand behind David, so that he had a hand resting on each shoulder. David couldn't help but smile and lean back into Pierre a little. It was just so comfortable being around him, even when he knew he should have been freaking out over two of his idols, and now closest friends, getting married.
“I know it sounds kinda corny, but... we set the date for New Year's Eve,” Patrick said quietly, and as he said this he didn't look at David or Pierre; in that moment, as he thought about giving his life forever to the man he loved, he had eyes for no one but Sebastien.
“Wow, that soon?” Pierre asked, and David began to bounce on his toes a little and a quiet, high pitched note was ringing from the back of his throat, as if he was trying his hardest to hold back a squeal. Pierre just smiled and ignored him.
“I know it seems soon but the way I see it, we've been waiting in denial four years for this,” Sebastien admitted quietly. He looked at Pierre carefully for a moment, and though nothing was said, Pierre thought he knew what the man was thinking. “So Pierre... you're gonna be my best man, right?” Sebastien asked, not disappointing Pierre.
David began to bounce more and Pierre smiled and nodded his head. “Of course, man,” he said.
“Well, that means I get David, right?” Patrick asked, and David's eyes widened, the soft squeal got louder, and suddenly he was jumping up and down. “I dunno, I can't tell if he really wants to do it,” Patrick joked, earning laughter from Pierre and Sebastien.
“OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! REALLY?!” David squealed, jumping up and down like a maniac.
Patrick raised an eyebrow and smiled. “I think we're gonna have to call you my maid of honor instead,” he joked.
“Oh! You shut up!” David scolded him, though the glare on his face didn't last even two seconds before he was grinning and jumping up and down again. “Oh my god, Pierre! We're gonna be so fabulous together! And this means we get to dance at the wedding!” he squealed.
“Because we normally wouldn't dance together?” Pierre pondered with a skeptical smile, but David just gave him a playful glare and then continued to bounce, getting a lot of attention from a rather excitable dog sized puppy. Pierre watched David for a moment, a loving smile on his lips, before he gave a soft sigh and looked at his two apparently engaged friends. “You mother fuckers,” he grumbled, though he smiled just the same.
“What did we do?” Sebastien asked incredulously, his voice ringing with a soft chuckle.
“Look at him! I just had him asleep!” Pierre pointed out, motioning toward David who now had Pierre the dog by the paws and was attempting to dance with her, though the great dane wasn't quite as graceful as David was. Sebastien and Patrick began to laugh and David turned to look at them, smiling wide, knowing he couldn't get to sleep now if he tried his hardest.
David dropped the dog's paws and moved to Pierre, wrapping an arm around his back and grabbing onto his hand, pulling him around as if they were dancing with a beaming grin. Pierre sighed and gave in, revolving with David in his arms while Sebastien and Patrick only laughed harder at the two of them and David hummed a song under his breath. Pierre rolled his eyes though soon his eyes settled on David's hazel ones and he smiled softly, loosening his grip a little to hold his younger boyfriend more tenderly. “You're a good dancer, Pierre!” David said quietly.
“I have a good partner,” Pierre responded with a sweet smile.
David had no response other than to smile for a moment, before leaning his head against Pierre's chest and sighing happily as they continued to dance in the middle of the living room with no music. Pierre placed a gentle kiss on David's unstyled black fauxhawk before resting his cheek against the top of the younger boy's head. When the two revolved again and Pierre got a good shot of his two friends again, he saw them sneaking out the door. Rather than saying anything, he just smiled and inclined his head a little, and the two slipped quietly out the door, leaving Pierre and David to stand in each others presence, drinking in the simple, sweet moment and absolutely enjoying every second of it.
